Bags of Love

Each week iServe volunteers pack and deliver backpacks full of food for the weekend to 12 schools in our community. Between 50 to 60% (25% low and 85% high) of the children in the schools that we serve are eligible for free or reduced lunch, which means the families live at an income level that can make providing the basic three meals a day a struggle. We work with school administrators to identify the families in need (they are anonymous to us), and each week their child is sent home with a Bag of Love filled with food for the entire family. We currently provide food for 250 families for 34 out of the 36 weeks of school.

Ways to Give

Backpack Sponsorship

For the cost of one inexpensive meal, food can be provided for an entire family (24 meals total) for the weekend

Monthly Sponsorship

Donate monthly to cover the cost of one family's food. Bags of Love are given out to students every Friday

Annual Sponsorship

Cover the cost of one family's meals for an entire school year. That's nine months of food every weekend

An average of 60% of school-aged children in our service area are eligible for free or reduced lunch

We currently serve 12 schools, providing food to 250 families, delivering Bags of Love once a week throughout the school year

Volunteers pack and deliver Bags of Love each week. It takes a group of 10 people about 1 hour to pack all 250 bags. If your group would like to select a week, please let us know. Backup delivery drivers are also needed.
